96 A deeper crimson to black colour with a sturdy bouquet, some oak, some extraction, and a minor reduction. Rather brooding, winning on intensity, less so on finesse, at least in its youth, and I would not want the fruit to be any riper. There is plenty to like here, indeed excellent long term potential, but the Clos des Lambrays 2-2020 was looking a little adolescent on this showing. Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted: September 2024. - Jasper Morris
