2023 Simon Colin Santenay 1er Cru Les Gravieres Rouge

89-91 - Mostly guyot trained vines, rather than the more usual cordon for reds in this part of the Côte. 45% whole bunch vinification. Clear fresh pinot of quality, lifted a little by the whole bunches. A little chocolate note in with the pure red berry fruit, but this is a genial, graceful wine with a good long finish. Drink from 2027-2034. Tasted: October 2023.
