2022 Lignier-Michelot Clos Saint Denis Grand Cru

Just one barrel, 100% whole bunch vinification, and as it turned out a long slow malolactic fermentation. Rich bright purple. This has the depth of fruit and voluptuous appeal of all good Clos St-Denis, wearing its heart on its sleeve. Not quite the same concentration at the back as the front of the palate, but the structure is entirely integrated, with good persistence. Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted Nov 2023. -Jasper Morris
