2023 Edouard Confuron Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Allots

89-92 50% whole bunch vinification, 50% new wood. Edouard thinks that new wood works better with whole bunches than destemmed grapes. A fairly deep ruby purple. The nose has the energy from the stems without any exaggerated oak. There is some at the back of the palate but it is integrating well with the fruit. Fluid, no great concentration, but a lovely wine. Drink from 2027-2031. Tasted Nov 2024. - Jasper Morris
