2022 Camille Giroud Beaune 1er Cru Les Avaux

5 Star Wine 92-95: 50% whole bunch vinification which is rare. Dark crimson in colour with dark red berry fruit and some blood orange on the nose. Positive tannins, this is a wine of surprising density and structure, maybe the best structure I have seen in a Camille Giroud Beaune Avaux. It certainly needs time, both in terms of elevage and then subsequently in bottle. Drink from 2030-2036. Tasted: October 2023. -Jasper Morris
