2020 Lignier-Michelot Clos de la Roche
5 Star Wine 95-98. 80% whole bunch. Really intense black colour with a purple rim. The bouquet does not want to speak quite yet. A little bit of wood, a light herbaceous note from the stems which departs rapidly, but the promise of such intensity. Morello cherries? A crackling freshness on the palate, mineral threads, a superb and classic texture, huge weight. Everything is there. Tasted: December 2021. - Jasper Morris
95-97 ”The 2020 Clos-de-la-Roche Grand Cru, which contains 70% whole bunch, has a flamboyant, pure and sensual bouquet with very floral violet and peony aromas complementing the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, demonstrating a touch more precision than the Clos Saint-Denis though sharing that saline/marine influence finish.
